On Saturday, March 25th, the Concerned Black Men of Richmond had an outing. We focused on problem solving, code of conduct and visited the Maymont Park Nature Center in Richmond. Due to an unforeseen problem, we had to change our event from taking a behind the scenes look at the music recording business.
There were 13 youth corps participants and 3 mentors attending. We spent an hour at Linwood Holton Elementary going over the CBM Code of Conduct and had a discussion on problem solving. The youth were presented with several situations and discussed several ways to solving the problem.
We left the school and visited the Maymont Nature Center. It was good to get them outside and discussing what they knew about the animals they encountered.
They really enjoyed being outside and seeing all the different types of animals up close.
Many had never seen these types of animals before.
Afterwards, we visited Pizza Hut. It turned out be a great outing!
