Greetings all!

The Concerned Black Men of Richmond started the 2019/20 session with an orientation meeting on September 14th at Franklin Military Academy.  The history of the organization was given along with an introduction of the mentors in attendance.  We provided the parents and guardians with a summary of last year’s activities and a calendar for this session.  The mentees then introduced themselves and reviewed the code of conduct for the mentees.

Last March, the Concerned Black Men of Richmond conducted a “Baseball Fundamentals” clinic with The Metropolitan Junior Baseball League.  They have a relationship with a baseball team in the Bahamas that was severely impacted by Hurricane Dorian and were conducting a supply drive at The Diamond on Arthur Ashe Boulevard.  We reached out to Coach Husband and asked for a list of the supplies that they were requesting.  The Concerned Black Men of Richmond donated several cases of peanut butter to assist them in their relief effort.

We have some very exciting activities planned for the youth this session!  Thank each of you for your interest and support of the Concerned Black Men of Richmond.  You are making a difference in the lives of the youth that we serve and the community.

Sincerely,
Tim Mallory,
President CBM-RVA
